School Report
The students of the 3 Course (7 grade) of gymnasia 191 who are eager to be reporters
take part in BBC School Report Project
and present their first reportage
This year the Kyiv P.Tychyna gymnasia 191 has been involved in BBC School Report Project.
In Ukraine this school activity is supported by the British Council and BBC staff. The main goal is to develop students’ journalistic skills to become School Reporters. Moreover, this project is very important for our students, because it gives them an opportunity to develop linguistic skills and makes new friends in other countries.
In March, schools take part in an annual News Day, simultaneously creating video, audio and text-based news reports, and publishing them on a school website, to which the BBC aims to link. The next News Day is Thursday 15 March 2012.
To be ready for this day our students have taken part in different events. They have been producing their own reports on different themes.
As this year is very rich in sport events, so we have chosen a common issue to discuss:
“Sports for Life”.

In June the European Football Championship “Euro – 2012” is hosted by Ukraine. All of us are looking forward to this competition. Football is very popular kind of sport among our students who like playing this game. Children and adults of our country like watching football matches and we will support our National football team at the Championship.
In July and August Great Britain will host the Olympic Games “London 2012”. Lots of sportsmen will come to participate in the Games. Ukrainian team has been entitled to represent our nation. So we are very interested in this event.
Before we started working on this theme we had undertaken a study, made some Power Point Presentation and defended them. Now we are preparing our school play on London 2012. We want to tell our schoolmates about the history of the Olympic Games, about famous Ukrainian sportsmen, their achievements and about our hopefuls. This event will be held on the 6th of March, 2012.
